AORN Calendar

Due to Covid, our in-person education and social events are suspended for the remainder of 2020.  The officers and leaders will continue to meet monthly and search for new options for 2021.  If anyone has contacts in the medical industry, we are looking to those partners to provide virtual education for CEU’s.

Please contact:

Thank you!

OR NURSELINK Issues

National AORN has recently switched vendors for managing OR NurseLink and some personal settings were altered.  We noticed in late August after our transitional board meeting that even the officers did not receive the OR NurseLink message about the suspension of activities.  This prompted us to inquire to National AORN.  They identified the problem; however, there is not a global or administrative solution to the problem.  It requires every member to log into aorn.org and then into OR NurseLink and view their settings.  You must select “Notify me of private messages from group administrators”.  This sends a notification to your external email to get up to date information.  It is important that everyone looks at this ASAP.  It is our best communication tool for our chapter!

SOCIAL MEDIA

Our second best communication is FaceBook Join us at Twin Cities AORN #2401.. It is currently a private group of 101 members.  There are 442 members in our chapter.  We would love for everyone to join, like, post, and comment on this site!

MONTHLY COMMUNITY SERVICE

Every month we will continue to give of ourselves.  Since we do not meet in person anymore our community monetary donations have dwindled.  So we have developed a monthly giving site for people to donate privately. Here are the sites for this year so far. Please log in and donate!

August was to the American Heart Association. www.heart.org

September is Hunger Action Month so we have chosen Second Harvest Heartland www.2harvest.org  The time to join forces to fight hunger in our community is now. The fight is even more important than ever before.  The coronavirus pandemic has created an unprecedented hunger crisis right here in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.  For every $1 donated, three meals are created. During this month, a generous Minnesota family is matching up to $100,000.  Please consider a personal donation now (before the end of September).

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Our charity is the Susan G Komen organization at https://ww5.komen.org.

As Nurses I know that we each give of ourselves every day.  If you can help any of these organizations, it is greatly appreciated
